Based on earlier works like Sefer HaYashar, Seder Olam Rabbah and Zutta, and the Epistle of Rav Sherira Gaon, the chronicle provides a history of the world from creation through the times of the author, dates of biblical figures, names and dates of rabbinic sages in alphabetical order, and names and dates of medieval and early modern authors.
