מאמר על ישמעאלMa'amar al Yishmael
ויכוח שניהל הרשב"א נגד חכם מוסלמי, בו הוא מפריך את התקפותיו על האמונה היהודית.*Ma'amar al Yishmael* is a 13th-century polemical work of Rabbi Shlomo ibn Adret (known by his Hebrew acronym, Rashba) refuting an Islamic scholar who had attacked Judaism. The work was originally published in 1863 by Hungarian scholar Rabbi Joseph Perles as an addendum to his biography of the Rashba. In 1894, Rabbi Martin Schreiner published an article identifying the anonymous Islamic scholar as the polymath Ibn Hazm who had lived two centuries before the Rashba and had attacked Judaism in a series of treatises. *Ma’amar al Yishmael* addresses two main arguments against Judaism: that Jews forged and edited parts of the Torah, and that the Torah is not eternal.
