רובו של הספר הם תורות של ר' אהרן מקרלין (השני) לפרשת השבוע וחגים, אמרות חסידיות מלוקטות בשמו, ואגרות ששלח לחסידיו ולבנו. אך נוספו בו גם ליקוטים מכתבי זקנו ר' אהרן הגדול, אביו ר' אשר הראשון, ובנו ר' אשר השני. בראש הספר ובסופו מופיעים הנהגות שונות שכתבו אדמור"י קרלין לתלמידיהם.The bulk of this work contains the teachings of Aaron of Karlin II, but also included are extant writings of his grandfather, Aaron HaGadol of Karlin I, his father - Asher I, and son - Asher II. The content of the book includes insights on the weekly Torah portion and Jewish holidays, Chasidic aphorisms, and letters from the author to his son and to his followers. Also included are rules of daily conduct according to Chasidic practice.
